Today, or rather yesterday for our friends in Asia and Oceania, British TV presenter Mark Durnden Smith hosted the 16th edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in Melbourne. As a responsible working citizen, I couldn’t afford to fly all the way to Australia to cry together with all the great chefs that got featured in the list. Luckily though, Fine Dining Lovers took care of me and millions of other people in my situation and live streamed the event.
In case you’ve seen the typical list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants all over the place already and want a new perspective, I’ve prepared this infographic. It’s is all you need to understand this prestigious list.
Did you know that Spain has been the most awarded country in terms of top restaurants? Or perhaps that the most awarded restaurants, elBulli and Noma are now closed? Did you know that The Best Female chef award only started in 2011? How about the countries with most restaurants featured in the list?
