I cannot imagine starting the new year with a messy house… or even worse: with a messy kitchen. In the past month my cookbooks somehow managed to double, which led to all the new ones piling up on my kitchen table. Once they created a wall too high to even see the kitchen behind them, I figured it was time to rearrange them and put them where they would not only be practical to find, but some place where they would say “we know you love us” every time I would look at them.
I have a growing passion for traditional Romanian art. Lately I’ve always chosen rustic over glossy. There is even more soul and meaning in those things that are handmade: like a braided bread basket, and a beautiful braided bottle to keep my homemade afinata – a Romanian sweet liquour made with blueberries (I promise the recipe will also be up soon). I found that wooden box with blue decorations yesterday in a thrift shop, and thought it would be perfect for tea. As for the rest… flour, sugar, brown sugar, coffee…
But I won’t get into much detail about every single item in my kitchen. My kitchen, where I find a piece of my soul in every corner, is just a symbol for what I promise myself and all of you, dear readers. I promise you good recipes, tasty recipes, delicious photos, and a lot of heart in everything I’ll do.
I wish that this new year will get you a step closer to all your dreams, and, of course, I hope that you will be enjoying the content I’ll be sharing with you!
Happy New Year!
