Get a glimpse of my decadent brunch, be it Valentine’s day or any other day.
I am not and never have been a big fan of Valentine’s Day. I always thought of it as the holiday to annoy single people and remind them that they’re single. As for couples, I’ve always thought that there shouldn’t be one day per year for romance, and that a healthy relationship should not be based on heart shaped chocolate and red roses. And since I did not wish to enter the cliche zone alone with my boyfriend and a romantic dinner in a cheesy restaurant, I decided to organise a decadent brunch with prosecco and pancakes, right at my place, with some other friends.
My boyfriend got me a crepe-maker for Christmas, and ever since, I have been trying to perfect my crepe-making skills by making a round every Saturday or Sunday. Thus, I was very excited to try out a new batch, especially since it was going to be a large one. We embarked upon a 2 hour long meal and prosecco, berries, and spice, and pancakes, and nuts.
As you can imagine, I could not organise a decadent brunch without a nice set-up. Yet again, Poundland saved me, as I bought most of the decorations for £1, including a lovely candle holder, flute glasses, some plates and some of the small bowls that held nuts, marshmallows and fruits.
How did you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
